Google Glass

Google Glass is a type of wearable technology with an optical head-mounted display (OHMD). It was developed by Google[9]with the mission of producing a mass-market ubiquitous computer.[1] Google Glass displays information in a smartphone-like hands-free format.[10] Wearers communicate with the Internet via natural language voice commands.[11][12] Google started selling a prototype of Google Glass to qualified "Glass Explorers" in the US on April 15, 2013, for a limited period for $1,500, before it became available to the public on May 15, 2014,[13] for the same price.
On January 15, 2015, Google announced that it would stop producing the Google Glass prototype but remained committed to the development of the product. In its eyes, Project Glass was ready to "graduate" from Google Labs, the experimental phase of the project.[14]
Google Glass was developed by Google X,[16] the facility within Google devoted to technological advancements such as driverless cars.
Google Glass is smaller and slimmer than previous head-mounted display designs.[17]
The Google Glass prototype resembled standard eyeglasses with the lens replaced by a head-up display.[18] In mid-2011, Google engineered a prototype that weighed 8 pounds (3,600 g); by 2013 they were lighter than the average pair of sunglasses.[1]
In April 2013, the Explorer Edition was made available to Google I/O developers in the United States for $1,500.[19]
In January 2015, Google ended the beta period of Glass (the "Google Glass Explorer" program)Google provided four prescription frame choices for $225 and free with the purchase of any new Glass unit. Google entered in a partnership with the Italian eyewear company Luxottica, owners of the Ray-Ban, Oakley, and other brands, to offer additional frame designs.[24] In June 2014, Nepal Government adopted Google Glass for tackling poachers of wild animals and herbs of Chitwan International Park and other parks listed under World heritage sites. Gurkha Military currently uses Google Glass to track the animals and birds in the jungle. This operation led to the latest development in military operation. Google Glass was used in military for the first time in the world by Nepal.[25]

In early 2013, interested potential Glass users were invited to use a Twitter message, with hashtag #IfIHadGlass, to qualify as an early user of the product. The qualifiers, dubbed "Glass Explorers" and numbering 8,000 individuals, were notified in March 2013, and were later invited to pay $1,500 and visit a Google office in Los Angeles, New York or San Francisco, to pick up their unit following "fitting" and training from Google Glass guides. On May 13, 2014, Google announced a move to a "more open beta", via its Google Plus page.[27]
In February 2015, The New York Times reported that Google Glass was being redesigned by former Apple executive Tony Fadell, and that it would not be released until he deemed it to be "perfect."[28]

Google /ɡɡ(ə)l/ is an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, searchcloud computing, and software.[8] Most of its profits are derived fromAdWords,[9][10] an online advertising service that places advertising near the list of search results.
Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Together they own about 14 percent of its shares but control 56 percent of the stockholder voting power through supervoting stock. They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998. An initial public offering followed on August 19, 2004. Its mission statement from the outset was "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful,"[11] and its unofficial slogan was "Don't be evil."[12][13] In 2004, Google moved to its new headquarters in Mountain View, California, nicknamed the Googleplex.[14]
Rapid growth since incorporation has triggered a chain of products, acquisitions and partnerships beyond Google's core search engine. It offers online productivity software including email (Gmail), a cloud storage service (Google Drive), an office suite (Google Docs) and a social networking service (Google+). Desktop products include applications for web browsing, organizing and editing photos, and instant messaging. The company leads the development of the Android mobile operating system and the browser-only Chrome OS[15] for a netbook known as a Chromebook. Google has moved increasingly into communications hardware: it partners with major electronics manufacturers[16] in the production of its "high-quality low-cost"[17] Nexus devices and acquired Motorola Mobility in May 2012.[18] In 2012, a fiber-optic infrastructure was installed inKansas City to facilitate a Google Fiber broadband service.[19]
The corporation has been estimated to run more than one million servers in data centers around the world (as of 2007);[20]and to process over one billion search requests,[21] and about 24 petabytes of user-generated data, each day (as of 2009).[22][23][24][25] In December 2013 Alexa listed google.com as the most visited website in the world. Numerous Google sites in other languages figure in the top one hundred, as do several other Google-owned sites such as YouTube and Blogger.[26]Its market dominance has led to prominent media coverage, including criticism of the company over issues such as search neutralitycopyrightcensorship, and privacy.[27][28]

Wilfried Bony

Wilfried Guemiand Bony (born 10 December 1988) is an Ivorian footballer who plays for Manchester City in the Premier League and the Ivory Coast national football team, as a striker.[2]
Wilfried Bony (2013).JPGHaving begun his career at Issia Wazi, he moved to Sparta Prague in 2007, helping them to the Czech First League title in 2010. In January 2011 he was signed by Vitesse, where he was the top scorer in the Eredivisie in 2012–13, leading to a £12 million transfer to Swansea City. He joined Manchester City for £28 million in January 2015.
A full international since 2010, Bony was selected in the Ivorian squads for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, helping them to victory in the 2015 edition.
Bony was born in Bingerville and was raised first in the city of Tebrau Plateau, and then in Abobo PK18. He played street football from a young age, in the Brazilian style of "Maracana". He also participated in many interschool and city cups, before spending three years at the Cyrille Domoraud Academy in Bingerville.

Manchester City Football Club is a Premier League football club in ManchesterEngland. Founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton), they became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894.
The club has played at the City of Manchester Stadium since 2003, having played at Maine Road from 1923. The club's most successful period was in the late 1960s and early 1970s when they won the League ChampionshipFA CupLeague Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup under the management team of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison.
After losing the 1981 FA Cup Final, the club went through a period of decline, culminating in relegation to the third tier ofEnglish football for the only time in their history in 1998. Having regained Premier League status, the club was purchased in 2008 by Abu Dhabi United Group and has become one of the wealthiest in the world.
In 2011, Manchester City qualified for the UEFA Champions League and won the FA Cup. The following year, they won thePremier League, their first league title for 44 years and the first Premier League title for any club that has played in the third tier of English football since 1980. In 2014, they won the League Cup and a second Premier League title
Manchester City's home colours are sky blue and white. Traditional away kit colours have been either maroon or (from the 1960s) red and black; however, in recent years several different colours have been used. The origins of the club's home colours are unclear, but there is evidence that the club has worn blue since 1892 or earlier. A booklet entitled Famous Football Clubs – Manchester City published in the 1940s indicates that West Gorton (St. Marks) originally played in scarlet and black, and reports dating from 1884 describe the team wearing black jerseys bearing a white cross, showing the club's origins as a church side.[41] The red and black away colours come from former assistant manager Malcolm Allison, who believed that adopting the colours of A.C. Milan would inspire City to glory.[42] Allison's theory worked, with City winning the 1969 FA Cup Final1970 League Cup Final and the 1970 European Cup Winners' Cup Final in red and black stripes as opposed to the club's home kit of sky blue.
The current club badge was adopted in 1997 as a result of the previous badge being ineligible for registration as a trademark. The badge is based on the arms of the city ofManchester, and consists of a shield in front of a golden eagle. The eagle is an old heraldic symbol of the city of Manchester; a golden eagle was added to the city's badge in 1958 (but has since been removed), representing the growing aviation industry. The shield features a ship on its upper half representing the Manchester Ship Canal, and three diagonal stripes in the lower half symbolise the city's three rivers – the Irwell, the Irk and the Medlock. The bottom of the badge bears the motto Superbia in Proelio, which translates as Pride in Battle in Latin. Above the eagle and shield are three stars, which are purely decorative.
City have previously worn two other badges on their shirts. The first, introduced in 1970, was based on designs which had been used on official club documentation since the mid-1960s. It consisted of a circular badge which used the same shield as the current badge, inside a circle bearing the name of the club. In 1972, this was replaced by a variation which replaced the lower half of the shield with the red rose of Lancashire. On occasions when Manchester City plays in a major cup final, the usual badge has not been used; instead shirts bearing a badge of the arms of the City of Manchester are used, as a symbol of pride in representing the city of Manchester at a major event. This practice originates from a time when the players' shirts did not normally bear a badge of any kind, but has continued throughout the history of the club.[43] For the 2011 FA Cup Final, City used the usual badge with a special legend, but the Manchester coat of arms was included as a small monochrome logo in the numbers on the back of players' shirts.[44]

The Walking Dead

An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled; there is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV.
Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying world. He was a small town cop who had only fired his weapon a couple times but never at anyone and had only ever seen one dead body. Separated from his family, he must sort through the death and horror to try and find his wife and son. In a world ruled by the dead, people are forced to finally begin living.
The Walking Dead is an American horror television drama series developed by Frank Darabont. It is based on the Comic Series of the same name by Robert KirkmanTony Moore and Charlie Adlard.
The series stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, who gets shot in the line of duty and awakens from a coma to find the world dominated by the walking dead. He sets out to find his family and encounters many other survivors along the way. The title of the series refers to the survivors, and not the zombies[2], though it could equally be taken to mean both the survivors and the zombies.
In September 2013, a spin-off series was announced by AMC.[3] Dave Erickson, writer and producer of AMC's Low Winter Sun, is confirmed to be the showrunner. In March 2014, Robert Kirkman has noted that the new series is not technically a spin-off, because none of the characters from the TV Series will be involved.[4] Kirkman also said that the new series will be unrelated to the comics, different characters, different location.[5]

Maroon 5

Maroon 5, born and bred in Los Angeles, with their catchy hook, soaring vocals, and signature sound, have solidified their position as one of pop music’s most enduring artists. The band captured their first of three Grammy Awards as “Best New Artist” of 2005 and have gone on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide. Maroon 5’s releases have also gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries.
Maroon 5 won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, Songs About Jane and their double platinum album, It Won't be Soon Before Long, which included hits like "Makes Me Wonder" and "If I Never See your Face Again." In 2010, the band released their third studio album, Hands All Over, which featured the hit singles “Misery” and the anthemic “Moves Like Jagger,” which climbed to the #1 spot on the Top 40 and Hot AC charts, as well as claiming the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2012, Maroon 5 released Overexposed, which quickly reinforced the group’s status as a powerhouse in popular music with all of the collection’s singles rising to the top of the charts. The third single off of the album, “Daylight,” claimed the # 1 spot on both Top 40 and Hot AC radio charts.
